Our iOS Technology
SafeGuard uses enterprise level technology that allows you to filter content from the internet and change device options remotely on iOS devices. The technology is easy to set up and once configured on the device, all filtering and device options can be administered remotely using your SafeGuard web portal. Mobile Device Management (or MDM) is a technology used by SafeGuard to assist with the remote management of mobile devices. A small download of a MDM profile on each iOS device takes a minute or so. The MDM profile contains network settings that allow the device to securely connect to the SafeGuard Global Defense Network allowing you to begin managing the device remotely. An option to show the location of the device is also available. All internet traffic is routed through the SafeGuard Global Defense Network using a Virtual Private Tunnel or VPN. Anytime an app connects to the internet a “VPN” badge or icon will appear on the device status bar assuring you a secure filtered connection has been established.
Our Android Technology
SafeGuard Defender puts you in control of the internet content accessed on your Android devices. It makes note of all sites that are visited either through the mobile browser or apps that are installed and connect to the internet. Detailed reports of this information may be viewed in the SafeGuard web portal. Content filtering while roaming or off network is not currently supported on the Android platform.
Content Filtering Policies
Once SafeGuard Defender has been configured on the network, the next step is to set up content filtering policies. Content can be filtered by selecting predefined categories. Currently SafeGuard Defender has over 55 categories of predefined content and is completely flexible and configurable. Create your own list of Always Block or Always Allow websites. Setup Block Page By-Pass Codes to enable users to temporarily access restricted content if needed. The content filtering is totally configurable and can uniquely filter multiple devices using separate policies. We realize that “one-size” filtering does not fit all. Best of ALL, filtering takes place in the cloud so there is no slow down of your browser or use of valuable device storage space.
App Monitoring Capability
SafeGuard monitors your mobile devices for new apps that are installed by the user. An email alert will be sent notifying you of this new install. This allows you the opportunity to research the app to determine if it is appropriate for the user. The SafeGuard defender also monitors the network traffic of web applications on your network and reports which web applications are being used in your web portal. This allows you to stay on top of new and emerging internet usage trends your kids are using online.
Highly configurable reporting in your SafeGuard web portal allows you to configure reports that can tell you what sites have been blocked, accessed, the time and date of the web request and which user requested it. Detailed reporting will also show you the most frequent web applications being used on your network, Facebook, Netflix, Twitter, Pinterest, SnapChat, etc. Detailed Reporting for mobile devices includes a List of All installed applications, Last known GPS location (if enabled), the ability to reset a forgotten passcode, erase the device remotely, and more..
Technology is always changing and growing. Most children know more than their parents. We need to have complete confidence that our family is protected from inappropriate content. Can we adjust the content filter to meet the specific needs of our family?
Absolutely! SafeGuard Technologies filter allows easy reliable content filtering based on categories of content. It also makes note of all sites that are visited either through the device browser or apps that are installed and connect to the internet. This information may be viewed to see what sites on the internet were visited and necessary changes to the filtering policies can be made. Block, add, and setup specific sites easily if the default filtering rules do not achieve what you need. Each device can be set up with different settings.

Do you support Safari Browser on iOS mobile devices like the iPhone, iPad, and iPod?

All the installed apps that communicate with the internet must also pass though the filtering policy you have defined.
How do you define content filtering policies?
Content can be filtered by selecting predefined categories of content.
You do not have to know specific websites or apps to block only the type of site or app they are.
There are over 50 categories to filter by:
- Social media
- TV and Video
- Drug and Alcohol
- Sex Related
- Abortion Related
- And Many More......

Safeguard your mobile devices when roaming. SafeGuard Technologies pushes your content filtering policies to devices that connect to the internet through Cell Data Service providers. You may not realize it, but visiting a website triggers interactions with dozens to hundreds of other Web servers without your consent—most as a result of online ads. Dozens of the largest ad networks have been compromised including DoubleClick (Google) and YieldManager (Yahoo!). And the biggest Web properties including Facebook, YouTube, and NYTimes have been impacted. SafeGuard stops malvertising by seeing every silent browser interaction and blocking malicious redirections. SafeGuard uses Tier 1 vendors to ensure you are continuously protected from these threats.
